Friends and Family,
I apologize for the delay in getting this update out. As I stated in my previous blog post, life at Mango House is providing me a time of rest and reflection. I am leaving Chiang Mai this Tuesday and heading to Taipei to meet with my grandparents and extended family. It is hard to believe how fast time flew by here; I feel like I'm finally getting acclimated to the weather!
The past week and a half have consisted of the same general routine. I wake up, spend time with Sarah, Pastor Danny, Ninmai, and Pastor Matt and Sarah, prep my English class lesson, spend time with the kids when the get home from school, eat dinner with them, go to the devo, teach my English class, practice flute/recorder, spend time with the kids, and then go to sleep. This schedule gives me time and freedom to invest in the people around me. It has been wonderful interacting with everyone here and getting to know them even more.
I am much better at uploading photos to my Facebook album than updating this blog, so please check out the link if you want to see more! I will put a few images below so you can get an idea of what I've been up to.
We did a few touristy things, and I got to spend time with Sarah and Baoyui at the Royal Flora gardens and with Arsami at the Elephant Camp.
I wish I had more time to build relationships, but I know that God has a purpose for the time we did share together.
Despite leaving Mango House soon, I still have a few prayer requests.
- Pray that God's guidance and affirmations are the leading forces in my life.
- Pray for the older students at Mango House who all share anxiety about the future.
- Pray that this whole experience creates permanent change in my heart and mindset.
- Pray for the areas of my heart that need grace.
In Him,
Janessa
