UPDATE: The Life of Julio
Tengo un UPDATE para todas sobre Sara y su salud.
A while back, I wrote a post about Julio's family. Julio's mother, Sara, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in September 2014. She was in great pain right before I left Costa Rica, and her financial situations were not great, as she had to quit her job in selling fried plantains since the heat was bad for her cancer. Sara's kids were faced with a hash reality: the possibility of losing their mom.

Fast forward a couple of months later...
She is doing miraculously well! Praise God for his healing hands and his grace. I am not sure if her cancer is in total remission, but our team was notified that her health and kids are doing great.
This is also a huge relief for Sara's kids because they were really upset at the possibility of being separated from one another if Sara passed away or if her health declined to the point where she could not provide adequate care.
Sara's kids are super happy, and there has been a total change of attitude in how they act in school and home. Good change of course. There will still be some chemotherapy that Sara has to go through, but for now, she is stable!
When I read biblical stories about Jesus's power to heal, I am encouraged and amazed at just how powerful he is. For example, the woman who simply touched Jesus's garment and was healed from her hemorrhage, or the paralytic man who was lowered through the roof and was able to walk at Jesus's command. Now, being able to see God's healing in Sara's life is a reminder that in the midst of all circumstances, he is in FULL control and that sickness is just another opportunity to draw closer to him.
"Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness" Matthew 9:35.
Prayer Request:
- Praise God for His grace and goodness, and for hearing our prayers.
- Continue to pray for Sara's health and for her children to continue striving for God. :)
In his Love,
Lisa Mai
