And... We're Off!!! Final Destination: Costa Rica
Greetings from the lovely San Diego Airport!
We are now waiting to take off to Houston and will connect to Costa Rica from there. Just a few days ago, my team received a last minute notice from Gary and Grettel (the missionaries in Costa Rica that are hosting us), informing us that we needed to plan a VBS lesson lasting for four days. It was an extremely short notice so we quickly got to work on creating worksheets and coming up with crafts that fit our lesson. We will be teaching about putting on the Armor of God (Ephesians 10:6-18) and making the armor out of cardstock, ribbons, paper bags, etc. I can already tell, it's going to be AWESOME!!
The schedule as of now: For the first week, we have manual labor/building projects in the morning and VBS with the local kids in the afternoon. For the second week, we are branching out of San Jose and supporting other local churches in their ministry. I will try to update you as much as I can when I have wifi. Until then, here are our prayer requests! <3
Prayer Request :)
- Safe travels to Costa Rica, especially in Houston because we only have 20 minute to get to our other flight due to a delay (#yolo)
- Continue to pray for team unity and peace for the VBS that we just found out that we had to lead.
- Faith in God that we serve in spite of the language barrier (their language is Spanish)
In His Love,
Lisa Mai <3
