Faith & Film Bootcamp 2021

Join us for a 2 week long bootcamp focused on filmmaking in the missions field

Last year, The Cultivation Project had the opportunity to have our very first Faith & Film bootcamp online. This year, we are excited to be able to host this bootcamp in person!

If you want to learn about filmmaking and how it can be used in God’s Kingdom, this bootcamp is for you. Join us on this two week journey in which you will dive into the basics of creating your own video projects from scratch while also fellowshipping with others through Bible studies and group activities. You will get hands on experience using camera & lighting equipment, filming real interviews and b-roll, and editing together a final video project.

While you aren’t actively learning about filmmaking techniques or working on your projects, you will get to participate in group Bible studies, times of sharing, games with fellow attendees, and you will have opportunities to relax and enjoy different parts of San Diego.

Our vision is to “cultivate the next generation of missional storytellers” and we hope to build a lasting relationship with you as you explore what it means to live for God.

The Details

• When: Monday, June 21 - Friday, July 2, 2021

• Location: This bootcamp will take place in San Diego, CA.

• Housing: All attendees will live in the same house during the two week bootcamp. Food and snacks are provided throughout.

• Transportation: While you are not required to have a car, you may have to travel within the city for the special film project that you will work on. Rides will be coordinated for those who do not have the ability to drive during this bootcamp.

• Equipment and Gear: While you are not required to bring your own film equipment or gear, we encourage you to do so in order to practice on what you already own.

What you will learn

• Cinematography (lighting, angles, working a camera, lenses, etc.)

• Producing (scheduling, interviewing, logistics, etc.)

• Editing & Coloring

• The modern missions field

• Bible studies on your role in God’s kingdom

Qualifications

• Believer and follower of Jesus Christ

• General interest in filmmaking and Christian missions

• Team player

• Must be at least 16 years old

Requirements

• Agree with The Cultivation Project’s statement of faith

• There is a $350 entry fee to join the Faith & Film bootcamp. This will simply cover housing, food, and other basic accommodations. If you are interested in attending, we highly encourage you to sign up and fundraise to cover the entry fee. We see this bootcamp as a missions training opportunity and we hope that your friends, family, and church community will follow along in your journey and support you.
